So You’re Thinking of Voting Republican

Let’s face it:  Obama and the Democrats are doing a pathetic job.  More Americans are unemployed, and more of those who are employed are in Afghanistan and Iraq fighting unconstitutional wars never declared by Congress.

Democrats gained control of both the House and the Senate in 2007.  A Democrat became president in 2009.  Democrats did not win because they were liked or that people agreed with their ideology.  People voted Democratic because Republican policies had failed.

Republicans and Bush were correct in cutting taxes.  They should have cut more taxes than they did.  Tax cuts are pointless when spending spiked at the largest percentage ever during the Bush administration.  Unemployment was already increasing prior to the 2006 elections.  Pay disparity was another reason why Republicans lost in 2006.

We have become a society of replacing the failures of one party with the failures of the other party.  Education, health care, and manufacturing were once American strongholds and we were the envy of the world.  Decades of Republicratic and Demopublican rule have made the United States the laughing stock of the world.

Republicans’ longest run at the White House in the 20th century was 1981-93 when Ronald Reagan served two terms and George H.W. Bush served one term.  Their longest control of the House was 1995-2007.   Republicans couldn’t fix the past Democratic failures (and the problems weren’t as large then as they are now.

Let’s make 2010 the year we vote third party candidates in office.  Let’s send those currently in Washington and our state capitals packing.  Let’s quit voting for people who are supported by lobbyists and start voting for people who are for people and not for party.
